Happy Holidays

Happy Holiday season to everyone! I hope everyone is enjoying this fun exciting time. So far I don't have a stitch of holiday shopping done. I hope I make it. I love putting up my Christmas decorations. I have 4 nativity sets in my house thanks to my two moms; 3 of them were from my mother and one was a gift from Jeff's mother. I guess it is the mother's thing to get their children nativity sets. The other day I noticed that Erica rearranged one of them to this. I thought it was so cute how they are surrounding Mary holding baby Jesus. I don't want to forget why we are really celebrating Christmas. It is so easy to forget because there are a million other things to preoccupy our minds in December. Thanks, Erica, for pointing out what this is all about. Ben wants to say "Hi" too. I am so lucky that I get to look at this cute face all day long. He loves to smile. It is so cute when he has been crying and then he gets a glimpse of my face and he gives me one of these faces below. It melts my heart. It is the most adorable thing to watch him try to talk to me and all of these different sounds come out of his mouth. I can see why several women I know have said to me lately that they are baby hungry. Nothing is sweeter than a little baby.

Hello, this is Benjamin

Hi. My name is Benjamin Anderson. This is my cousin, Madelyn. She is 3 weeks and 6 days older than me. This is my mom's blog. Sorry she doesn't post very many pictures of how cute I am these days. I wish my mom's blog was more like Madelyn's mom's blog http://www.scottandleahhoogland.blogspot.com/. There are tons of photos of her and her big brother. Well, Benjamin, don't worry. Your mom will get the hang of motherhood some day and find time once again to do the things she enjoys. So since my mom is so busy taking care of me, I'm going to narrate this post for everyone. Oh, Ben, you are so smart already. This is a picture of me, my Daddy and my sister Erica. Erica got baptized on November 1 and then I was blessed right after the baptismal program. Then the next day my cousin, Madelyn, was blessed in her ward in Layton. Our silly parents love to take pictures of the two of us together. My mom loves to go on walks with me in the stroller and a friend sent her this cute bear costume to wear to stay warm. I was so excited. Man, I was tired afterwards. What a walk! That is all for now. I'm going to try to convince my mommy to post more pictures of me so you can see how cute I am. Bye!

I have had some requests to post more pictures. It is hard to find the time to get on line now with this little guy in my life. But alas, he is asleep for the moment. Here is B during his first bath. She made him that blanket. E turned 8 on October 15. She is getting baptized this Saturday

Here are some pictures of Benjamin for his aunts, uncles , grandparents and anyone else who wants to see my cute baby. I love his look of contentment after he gets done eating. His first ride in the stroller. Erica loves her baby brother and she is a wonderful big sister.

He is finally here!

My little boy is finally here! He was born on Sunday, October 5 at 1:26 p.m. He weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces and we named him Benjamin Brian Anderson. Brian is Jeff's dad's name. Isn't he so sweet?! I am in love! Getting him here wasn't easy. I was feeling contractions for three days straight off and on. Sometimes they were consistent and painful but not close enough to go to the hospital. And other times they were light contractions. But finally on Saturday night at about 5p.m., the contractions started coming 5 minutes apart for a couple of hours. I had to call Jeff who was at the priesthood session to come home and get me to take me to the hospital. We went at about 7:30. They admitted me and I was in labor through the night and into the morning. When I was finally dilated to a ten, I pushed for an hour and half. When the doctor finally got there and they could see the head, they figured out that his head was turned to the side and his big burly shoulders couldn't fit. So the doctor decided to do an emergency C-section. So after 18 hours of labor and an hour and half of pushing, I thought I was going to die when he decided to do a C-section. So they rushed me to the operating room and did the surgery. Jeff said that the second Benjamin poked his head out of my uterus, he started to cry. I heard the crying but I couldn't see him because they had it blocked so I couldn't see the surgery process. They let me look at him for like 20 seconds then they rushed him to do all of the baby testing on him. Then while they were stitching me up, they brought him back to me for like 30 seconds and let me look at him again and told me they were taking him to the ICU because he was having trouble breathing and he was very low on fluids in his body. So I sent Jeff with him and I went through the recovery process with Jeff coming to me every now and then to check on me. Then FOUR HOURS later, they brought my baby to me and I finally got to hold him. What a day! I came home yesterday from the hospital and I'm recovering slowly from almost giving birth and having a C-section. Benjamin is so sweet. He is a wonderful nurser and a good sleeper so far and we are enjoying him so much. Here are a few more pictures: This was the first time I got to hold him. This was taken the day we got to go home. The new proud daddy and his son. I couldn't resist taking this picture the morning after our first night. Aren't they so cute together?!

Patience

My theme for life is "Patience." I had to wait 30 years to meet my dear husband and then I had to wait 3 and half years to get pregnant. And now I have waited 6 days (and counting) past my due date to have my little baby boy. I went to the doctor yesterday and there has been no change in my body to indicate that it is time for this baby to come out. So we are waiting a bit longer and if nothing has happened by this Sunday, they are going to induce me on Sunday night. So there should be a little Anderson boy born by Monday!!!! Yeah!!!!!
